| Doug
was born in Pembroke Wales and immigrated to Canada in the late
sixties as a Pastry Chef. After working for places like the Bon
Ton in Vancouver he decided to start something of his own.
That was Osscarson's French Pastry, specializing
in products using only the finest ingredients. With seven outlets
in the major high end malls of the day it was clear that good quality
was something people wanted and were willing to pay a little extra
for.
It was here that Darcy came into the picture.
Hired as a cake decorator she and Doug began their love affair with
life together. Both loving to travel and entertaining friends with
great food has led them on many adventures together. Some of the
places that they have picked up both culinary and architectural
influences are: Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, China, Mexico, southwest
USA, England, Costa Rica, Polynesia, and the list goes on....
With this knowledge and their love of people the
B&B dream was started. Darcy still loves to decorate cakes and do
flower arranging. Doug is always looking at new cookbooks for ideas.
They both love to spend time in the gardens creating special places
to relax and trying to work together with the local wildlife to
"share the space". What they are hoping to bring to your Wildflowers
experience is a little taste of the pampered side of life. Where
you can wake up when you want, have your delicious breakfast served
to your room for you to savor, and to be able to look out at a little
piece of nature teeming with life. |
