to do it on your own. There are tours available to Princess Louisa
and Chatterbox Falls. As well there are many lakes in the area.
Kayaking
is available on the lakes, open ocean, or inland sea with areas
for both the novice or experienced kayaker looking for "the thrill".
Diving
is superb with the Chaudiere, a sunken navy ship, being the most
popular local site.

This is a very popular way to see the coast. On
The Edge Biking will set you up with everything you need for
either site-seeing or more adventurous mountain biking. There are
numerous trails well marked for the off road experience.
On Foot - Walks & Hikes:
This is by far the favorite pastime of locals and
visitors. There are many trails for all levels of fittness. One of
the most popular areas is the Skookumchuk Rapids. You can walk the
4km trail to the picnic area and watch as the ocean levels change
between Jervis Inlet and Sechelt Inlet. The water levels can exceed
2 meters and travel more than 16 knots per hour. An incredible example
of the force of nature.Check tide tables to get the most from your
experience. Very close to Wildflowers Bed & Breakfast is one of
the many marine parks on the coast with trails that give you incredible
views of Welcome Passage. Named Smugglers Cove Provincial Park,
this area was used during the prohibition for "rum running" to the
USA. .With its many coves and hidden bays it was ideal for the smugglers.Just
a short walk form our driveway is a trail winding through westcoast
rain forest to a lovely waterfall. Beautiful mosses and ferns grow
among big cedars and firs. Very relaxing walk. Feeling more energetic?
Take a 30 minute hike straight up Mt. Daniel for spectacular views
of Pender Harbour and beyond to Texada, Lasquiti and Vancouver Islands.
Or spend some time swimming, bird watching, reading.
The list goes on......... There are craft fairs, art exhibits, community
fairs, Jazz festivals in June & September, and the very popular
Festival of the Written Arts held every August in Sechelt.
