Cancellation policy and house rules

Cancellation policy

  • A minimum 50% deposit (plus taxes) is required to secure your accommodation.

  • All changes to a booking may be subject to a $50 administration fee.


While we sympathize with changes to circumstances, our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations 14 days prior to check-in will be charged the first night's stay (plus any fees and taxes).

  • Cancellations 13 to 7 days will receive a refund of 50% of the deposit or be charged the first night if this is greater (less any fees and taxes).

  • Sorry, no deposit refunds for cancellations of less than 7 days.

We will make every attempt to book the cottage for the dates of your stay and if successful a full refund would be issued (less any fees).

House rules

  • We are best suited and set up for couples looking for a few days out of the city, close to nature and who would like to enjoy coastal BC and all the activities, sites and beauty it has to offer.  This is a quiet neighbourhood in a rural location, please be respectful of/to our other guests, neighbours, the wildlife, countryside and our home.

  • Check in is from 3pm and check out is at noon (unless previously arranged).

  • We are unable to accommodate children or pets and the maximum capacity is two per cottage.

  • In our ongoing quest to be more environmentally friendly: fresh towels and linens will be provided at your request and/or only for guests staying more than two nights.  Housekeeping is available mid-stay for bookings of four nights or more or at anytime for an additional cost of $35 each.

  • Please let us know if you require garbage/recycling pick up during your stay.

  • We are on a very sensitive septic system, so please only your personal deposits and TP into the toilet and no coffee grounds or food waste into the sinks.

  • Hot Tub and Garden Use: Guests are welcome to use the hot tub and explore the gardens between the hours of 9am and 11pm at own risk and liability, being respectful of our neighbours, property and other guests.

  • Before using the hot tub please rinse off body oils and moisturisers, shower afterwards and use sensibly: being aware of temperature and length of time and not while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Pregnant women and persons using any medications (including non-prescription drugs) must not use the hot tub.

  • Plastic cups only in the gardens and hot tub area; smoking is prohibited in/around the hot tub.

  • Guests (and their visitors) are welcome to enjoy the gardens and the games provided they take care, particularly around the water features and the stone/retaining walls; being especially aware that surfaces will be slippery when wet; will be responsible around any equipment or machinery  come across (there is often ongoing maintenance in the gardens).

  • Guests are responsible for any injuries or damages should candles be lit, the BBQ, fire-pit and/or the chiminea used; any current burning restrictions must be adhered to.  The BBQ and its equipment must be cleaned and returned after use (additional cleaning fee may be applied).

  • Smoking policy (including vaping, e-cigarattes, tobacco, cannabis, etc) : if guests must smoke then please do outside, being respectful of others (smoke downwind) and use the sand buckets provided on the decks.  A cleaning fee/fine will be applied should guests smoke inside or discard items into the gardens ($150).

  • All damages and breakages must be reported and paid for at time of check out.
